About Koujukai
Beginning with the establishment of the Azalee Edogawa Intensive Care Nursing Home in April 1999, Koujukai, a Social Welfare Corporation, has been supported by, and an active member of, the community in the Edogawa Ward of Tokyo, Japan. Azalee, in fact, is a take on the French word for the Azalea flower – the official flower of Edogawa Ward.
As a part of Azalee Group, Koujukai provides nursing care, as well as education, and medicine, in an effort to benefit the members of our community by putting our clients and their families first, and continually improving our services.
Our goal is to act as a community hub so that those around us will have a sense of security that they can continue to live in, and be part of, the community they love.
What We Do
Koujukai operates a number of facilities with various services to meet the needs of the elderly in Edogawa.
Azalee Edogawa Intensive Care Nursing Home offers 24-hr care 365 days of the year. In addition to nursing care for permanent residents, the facility also offers short-term respite care, and a day service for clients who still live independently but want to enjoy the recreation, physical therapy, and bathing-support the facility can offer. Azalee Edogawa also acts as a local consultation center for those in the community via support groups, care plan management and more.
Azalee Annex Carehouse operates as Edogawa’s only assisted-living home for the elderly. Residents enjoy the benefits of both private living quarters and 24-hour care. Azalee Annex not only offers a physical therapy-focused but also has an attached children’s day care center to support working mothers, and foster cross-generational interaction.
Azalee Rehabilitation Club is a day center for seniors who are interested in maintaining their active daily lives through physical therapy and entertaining activities. It is next door to the colorfully decorated Azalee Nursery School for children aged 0-5 years old. The close proximity allows for both groups to enjoy interacting together through fun activities and learning opportunities.
